Game and video options are selectable and work normally so long as I don't click on the offline character selection tab where my toons are and where I get the black rectangle over half of the last one I played. I feel like if I could get in and switch to legacy graphics the problem would fix itself, but I can't get in. No toon is selectable (of 3), and after a short while in the selection screen - few minutes at most - D2R quits. Ever since then my character selection screen has a black rectangle covering the left half of my toon. Nothing special and nothing graphically taxing was happening.

I fixed the lag by playing legacy graphics. Been playing single player offline for days without problems except occasional long load times, laggy in new graphics mode, and sometimes flickering black over lower portion of screen.
